The Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is out with the launch of Google Nexus 7 tablet and on July 10 Google pushed Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update via OTA to Galaxy Nexus smart phone. For Samsung Galaxy S II its bits too early to see Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update but it would be certainly available on tentative date in August. Nevertheless, the international version of Samsung Galaxy S II gets the Android 4.0.4 update since the device after the big Android 4.0.3 update which was pushed in the last week of May this year.
Today we hear multiple reports stating that Samsung is rolling out Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich update to the GSM based Samsung Galaxy S II GT I9100 devices around the world. Surprisingly these updates aren’t available via the OTA but it’s been pushed via the Samsung KIES, the PC connectivity tool for Samsung mobile phones. This update will soon be covering the entire region around the world but as of now its debut with the launch in Russia. And the multiple US variants are the next in line most likely.
If you have international Samsung Galaxy S II then connect your phone to the Samsung KIES using the PC and there is update waiting for you! Please make sure that you have taken backup of the existing files on your phone.
